PDRE-600 AKA "clarence"

Available in both standard rod and long-rod configurations, the default is long rod. the PDR-600 is the go-to shortblock for builds running upgraded stock-frame turbochargers or smaller rotated turbo kits, as the name states this is good for 600 Crank hp.

This engine is built using brand-new Subaru case halves and retains the factory open-deck design, which provides excellent cooling characteristics for street and track applications. Internally, the block is upgraded with forged connecting rods and forged pistons for significantly improved strength and durability over the factory components.

The result is a reliable, performance-focused short-block designed to handle increased power levels while maintaining OEM fitment and drivability—making it an ideal foundation for enthusiast builds looking to step beyond stock reliability. This exact configuration has been thoroughly tested in our in-house Gridlife Street Class time attack car. We successfully ran this setup for two full seasons without a single issue, proving its reliability under sustained track conditions. We were so impressed with the ability of this configuration that we named it "Clarence" after a certain brilliant scientist that refused to die. IYKYK
